Alternative Healing

Private Yoga, Health Coaching and Reiki with Cathy

me-namaste

About Cathy:  For years I suffered from Fibromyalgia and Pre-Diabetes.  I spent thousands of dollars with temporary relief from the debilitating symptoms.  After some self-discovery, I created lifestyle changes that made a profound impact on my health and ultimately my life.   Those changes lead me to study nutrition through Integrative Nutrition. My studies created a deeper passion than I ever expected about the food choices I make and overall wellness.  This passion has brought me to where I am today, teaching Yoga and sharing my passion of nutrition as a Health Coach.

Health Coaching is a personal mission for me because I know the rewards of living to the best of my health potential.  The heart of my coaching and teaching comes from my personal experience in lifestyle and nutritional changes and the new life it created for me.  It is so important to remember  that everyone is unique; to honor bio-individuality- your uniqueness, including your likes, dislikes and even allergies or sensitivities.  Diets do not work because they are not designed for “you”.  Making better choices create life long changes that create a healthy lifestyle allowing the ability to sustain your healthiest version of yourself.  Together, we can design a plan specifically for you.  You will be empowered with the tools and support you need to create your healthiest and happiest way of being.

The healing and comfort that Reiki provides is “mystical” to me.  As a provider, it has little to do with me.  Reiki is the Universe’s gift that we all have but the ability to share it comes with training and attunement.  Honoring the lineage and the healing qualities are a privilege to share with you as it provides relief for stress, physical, emotional and/or spiritual related symptoms.

About Susan:  When I received my first Thai massage, I was deeply affected by it’s depth, variety, and elegance.  Studying yoga, breathing and muscle relaxation, meditation and Buddhism, I felt Traditional Thai Massage was work that brought these various arts under one holistic umbrella.

I earned a degree in mechanical engineering to understand cars. However, after receiving, then studying Traditional Thai massage at the Sunshine School in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and getting certified in acupressure at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, California, often I am just as interested in the mechanics of the human body and spirit as I am by the beautiful ’67 Camero that just zoomed by.

Everyone is unique.  We all are affected by mental habits, physical tension, emotional trauma, and injury differently.  I work not on, but with my clients to seek to find physical and mental relief in the form of release encouraged by movement, breathing, awareness, and relaxation which can often enable clients to slow down, see and solve challenges in their lives, tune-up the body, and bring mental and physical activity into balance.

I hope to see you soon, and may you be safe, healthy, joyful, and may the coming and going of things in your life be accepted with grace,
Susan

Massage, Reflexology, Jin Shin Jyutsu and More with Gina Stropko, LMT

Gina has been in practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Reflexologist since 1997.  Her studies include Tai Chi Ch’uan, Polarity Therapy, Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapy, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Reflexology, Shiatsu, Shamanism, Myofascial Release, trauma and stress release therapies, Aromatherapy and pain management.  Continuing her studies in Natural Healing and the healing arts, Gina combines different modalities of bodywork and energy work according to the comfort and needs of each individual.  Gina has extensive experience working with senior citizens and those suffering with chronic pain.

Inspired by her love for our four-legged friends, Gina is also a Certified Canine and Equine Massage Practitioner.  Pets love massage too!  Touch is healing for all.

Gina became a Certified Jin Shin Jyutsu Practitioner in 2004.  Jin Shin Jyutsu is the “Cosmic Artless Art” form similar to acupressure using moderate to light pressure of the hands, which are compared to jumper cables, generating Life Energy.  By placing our hands or “jumper cables” on our self or another, the Universal Harmonizing Energy will balance and harmonize in that person.  From Japan, Jin Shin Jyutsu means the Creator’s Art of Humanity and is also called “The Art of Happiness, Longevity and Benevolence.”  Bringing awareness of the Breath, Jin Shin Jyutsu promotes the harmony of our attitudes- worry, fear, anger, grief and pretense.

Reflexology is an ancient form of compression touch done to the feet and hands through a system of reflexes that mirrors the entire body, including all of the internal organs.  Using the concepts of Zone Therapy, Reflexology promotes healing on many levels.

Polarity Therapy is a healing science working with helping the balance and flow of our Living Energy Fields, acknowledging that we are physical, mental, emotional, spiritual beings with an energy system.  Founded by Dr. Randolph Stone, Polarity Therapy encompasses many different healing modalities from both Eastern and Western cultures, having roots from ancient to modern traditions for promoting Health and Vitality.

Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapy is a gentle way to work with settling the Nervous System and connecting with our Inherent Health.  The Cranium (head) and the Sacrum (base of the spine) is the midline of our physical being and houses our Life Force, Chi, Ki or Potency.  The more Potency in the system, the better we feel and the better we heal.  Cranial Sacral clients may remain clothed. A session includes light touch and possibly feeling Stillness and the fluidity and the subtle energy moving throughout one’s being.  This expression of Health is felt through the fluidity and movement of bones and tissue, the Nervous System settling, resistances releasing, and our core energy building.  This deep and slow work can allow the body to regulate the Autonomic Nervous System and helps with numerous issues as our Essence comes forward and pain and pathology diminish.

Pricing for Healing Arts:  $45 for 30 minute session,  $60 for 45 minutes,  $80 for 1 hour,  $110 for 90 minutes, $140 for 2 hours

Gina also teaches classes in Tai Chi with an emphasis on Health and Balance.  For more information, check the website http://bebalanced.massageplanet.com, or please call Gina Stropko at (440) 918-8206.
